# Summary:
SMO: Studying beginner any% Cap route - session #1.21. I did measured practice of the stuff I've been trying to learn in the last few sessions. I learned some things and decided to quit. I decided to remove a metric and add another one.
---------------------------------------------------
I did measured practice of the things I've been trying to learn over the past few sessions. Here's the last session.
These are my results:
I quit the experiment after the 4th run.
I noticed some things:
- Diving after exiting the frog is dangerous because it doesn't leave much time to throw cappy to open the door, so it's too easy to crash into the door. So I'm going to remove this from my gameplay.
- When I try to go over the railing and get it wrong, I'm bad at correcting the error. Like I'll try to wall jump and dive towards the wall, but end up diving in the opposite direction. This is something I should get good at because it will be helpful in lots of parts of the game.
- I'm still not consistent at using the roll cancel to quickly turn around the end pole right before the boss fight. I'm not sure exactly when I should be doing the roll cancel. I think I should wait until after passing the pole. I may rewatch the smallant video at 0.25X speed to see if I can figure it out.
- I fell over the railing with the frog again. This is the second time. I'm going to add it as a metric.
# Next steps: Do measured practice with new set of metrics.
