Report for semiweek 1

I’ve already changed a few things in my learning plan. And I have more changes in mind already (new thoughts towards the bottom of this post).

Post to FI

• I posted my learning plan to FI email list.

Self-evaluation, Grammar

• I brainstormed about how to learn how to self-evaluate grammar.

Grammar

• I did some work on finding verbs.

Tutoring

• I helped somebody with a test he was practicing for and I documented it.

Speedrunning

• SMO: I tried section 6.2 and documented it as usual. I think my documentation is better than before.

Grammar

• I did more work on finding verbs.

Self-evaluation

• I had some thoughts about the relationship between self-evaluation and overreaching.

Discussion

• I especially liked Elliot's blogpost titled _Thinking Before Discussion_. I added it and a few other things to my discussion methods guide.

Speedrunning

• While preparing to speedrun, I started documenting what I'm going to do. And I noticed that it's a process that I should document. So I blogged about it. "Documenting before an activity is like stretching and warming up before a run." 

Speedrunning

• SMO: I tried section 6.2 again and documented it. 

Thoughts re learning plan

• I had some new thoughts on minimum requirements for my learning plan.

Self-evaluation, Grammar

• I updated my blog post Learning how to self-evaluate grammar with a new idea tree called How to learn grammar.

Problems:

- I had a problem where I thought I might be making a plagiarizing mistake. I’m not sure I made the right decision to leave the post up without having fixed this mistake or being sure about whether or not it’s a mistake before publishing the post.

[1] While making this post, I wanted a way to get all the links to my work without having to get each link individually. I found a site explaining how to make a script that creates a function that I can then use to gather the links. I failed to get it done due to an error in the code (and I don’t understand the code so I didn’t fix it). But I learned that I can make scripts in google sheets similar to how I used to make scripts for MS Excel using VBA. I didn’t know I could do that with google sheets. Anyway I figured out a way to solve my problem without having to make a script and just using an existing thing (called “Get link to this range”) found in the drop down menu when right-clicking on a range.
